Well we went to New York, February 11th, 12th, and 13th to record portions of the O’Reilly Tools of Change for Publishers Conference. The event went very well.

At this point, we do not know what videos will be posted on the web or where (O’Reilly’s decision), but the tutorials that we recorded will be available for purchase from O’Reilly. The Search Engine Optimization tutorial was great.

The four tutorials that we recorded are:

Digitizing Your Backlist

XML for Publishers

SEO for Book Publishers

Making Mobile Work

The conference wrapped up on Tuesday with a closing presentation called the ‘Teen Panel’ where Stephen Abram of SirisiDynix conducted an interview with eight teenagers and their views on technology, communication, information, and a few other odds and ends thrown in. Every kid on the panel listens to music either on their IPod or through there computer. Not a stereo in the batch. Email seems to have been relegated to old technology with this crowd, and text messaging is definitely their preferred method of communication.

It was a really interesting presentation, but due to the age and number of minors involved, I think that unless you were there, you will not have an opportunity to see it.
