I did come across this post today though, and am trying it on another one of my dreamhost sites.

I’m using Montastic and AlertSite for performance monitoring.

Montastic is great for catching the alerts but no historical reporting, Alertsite provides great historical reporting.

Rolling with Ruby on Instant Rails

Then I connected to SQL Server and did the same thing with just a moments worth of work. It was download a new file, put it in the correct directory, change the database.yml file for the app, use DDL to create appropriate database objects, and bang I was up and running against MS SQL instead of MySQL. Next quick step will be to flip it over and run against SQLite. Then it’s time to experiment with a web based app to replace on of my clients current MS Access Apps with a RoR web app.
